I have not said I wont pay them, I have only said I cannot pay in one lump sum, and as for the high horse comment, I find that very unfair, I started this thread to ask advice, that is what this forum is for.
Also as I am one of over 2000 of their customers that this has happened to (by their own admission), I wanted to know how other people were dealing with it if they had been approached.
I pay all of my bills on time, every time. I have been told as yet I am still insured until the matter is resolved, and they will send me my NCB straightaway, should I need it, also, they maintain they would have honoured any claims, had I needed to make one as this was their error. I am now in the position of having to now find new insurance, I have offered to pay normal full monthly instalments until after Christmas and then catch up, I have been told that this is unacceptable.
This was a phone call out of the blue that I just asked for advice on.
Thank You.This is bad advice. (And if you had made a claim why would they be upset??)
As already advised you do not want to end up with having your policy cancelled by the insurer over this. It will make getting insurance difficult in the future. (And don't expect them to co-operate with you regarding supplying you with proof of your NCB in the event the policy gets cancelled and you owe them)
So get down from the high horse and if you can't afford to pay what you owe them try to come to some arrangement with them, or get a loan elsewhere to pay them! Unfortunately although you blame them, it is your responsibility to pay up, and they will take the hard road if you don't. This would mean cancelling your policy, chasing you for the debt, putting you on the database for having them cancel you etc etc.0 -

You are so right.
Sorry, it reads very badly and wasn't aimed at you, but the poster who gave you the advice to tell them to "thank their lucky stars you never made a claim off them"!
Glad you are getting them to co-operate and let you out with no hassle.
Try and get them to put in writing to you that the cancellation has come about as a result of their admin error, and is not due to any default by you - as previously posted, you could have problems if they record you as a defaulter as the reason for cancellation mid term.0 -

Hi,
Thank you all for your advice. Kwik Fit rang me back a week later, they have accepted responsibility and as a gesture of goodwill they have credited me with 2 full months payments and split the rest over the remaining term.
Thanks again.0
