I've just had an email from McAfee advising my subscription runs out in 60 days and inviting me to auto renew for Base price (pre-tax): £ 54.99(GBP).
Their website offers 18 for months cover for £49.99 !
I'm now totally confused about what I should do to a) renew and b)get the best price.

Any thoughts ?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Agree with Busenbust, don't bother renewing it.

Just before it expires download the FREE version of Avast 5. Then on expiry day uninstall McAfee using the removal tool on their websitethen install Avast 5. You'll need to register Avast 5 to get a license key but it's a quick and easy operation.

If all that seems too complicated then download Microsoft Security Essentials (also free) but don't install it until after removing McAfee.
  • If you want to stay with McAfee then consider buying a new disc on-line. A quick look on Amazon shows the Internet Security 2011 3-user package for just £23.97, including free delivery. Maybe with a bit of digging you could find it even cheaper!

I use Norton. When my annual renewal came around a couple of months ago they wanted £65. I just ordered the new disc from Amazon for about £20. When your subscription date arrives just un-install your current McAfee and load up tour new disc on each computer. Easy!

A lot of people slate the big anti-virus providers but if you know it works Ok on your machine then stick with it!!

    Good luck.

I believe if you don't renew they start sending you e-mails asking if you'd like to renew at a much reduced price.
