I would say that the long standing members get a response as they generally know how to construct a coherent question.

So many "noobs" join and post a short question without any hint of detail. This makes an informed repsonse impossible.

Add to those "noobs", the ones who use text speak, no paragraphs, no punctuation and it is the devils own chore to work out what the question is.

The Loans board is a particularly good example.

Because people write on forums. And people form cliques.

I'm not part of any clique or anything but I'm going to have a go at you for using the word "mommy" and not Mummy, bloody Yank sayings! :D

The way i see it is that some people will start a new thread, and if they do not get the advice or answer that suits them then they kind of go into a strop.

There was one poster recently who wished the people who were trying to give her some advice on a vegetable that had a piece of metal in it to choke....simply because they did not get the answer that they wanted.

In all online forums no matter what nature they are,you will always get the good and bad elements, and if nobody replied to your post then there must have been a particular reason why,for example no one had advice to give you.

As far as i can see it is very, very rare that anyone who starts a new thread does not get an informed and cogent answer.

I posted a thread about how to get water stains out of a leather handbag but nobody replied. I presume that's because no one knew, not because they don't like me. Perhaps I was wrong (sob).

Since I'm here I might as well ask again...does anyone know how to get rid of water stains? The bag is still languishing at the bottom of my wardrobe, loved but unusable.

Sounds like a plan! Perhaps I'll put it through the washing machine, just to make sure it's properly soaked. :T

Is there such a thing as water stains on leather? Or is that why my leather jacket is a bit streaky?
Yes those are serious questions. :p

Streaky with what? Could it be 'stained'?
