Has this laptop been used before?

In regards to the laptop, the battery life is excellent, mine was being reported by windows as having over 3 1/2 hours last night and I've read reports of over 4 hours. Its obviously heavier than a 15.4", certainly more than a 13" but I think its 4.4 kg which is not a massive weight in comparison to over 3kg for some 15.4". They all require batteries, HD, DVD drive, motherbords, memory etc, so the extra weight is partially of the screen and the extra casing etc.
Anyway there was no history in IE in the history. I couldn`t find the cookies so I did a search for cookies, it founf 4 files, they all appeared empty, containing either 16 kb or 32kb of data. Where exactly should I look for the cookies?
Also is there any other methods, software etc that I can use to discover previous use of the laptop? I can`t get a usb drive until over the weekend.
Thanks

Every thing looks fine what is installed on the machine , this is what it comes with , the only thing i would be worried about is the blemish or scratch on the screen everything else is normal
Hope this helpsIf it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

A simple way to check what a PC has been up to, whether it's been used before etc, is to check the system event logs.
Go to Start | Run and type eventvwr then click OK.
Check the dates on all of the entries in the Application and System logs. See what the date of the first entry is. Don't worry about what each event says - there may be hundreds or thousands of entries! Looking at the dates should give you a good idea of when a computer has been turned on (events are usually logged on every startup and shutdown of the system, along with many other things!)0 -
I've also just realised that mines been delivered with a 60 Gig HD whereas on the advertisement it said 80 gig, on the box that it came in it also said 80 Gig. On Samsungs website it says available in capacities of 80 -120 gig.
I`ll have to wait till tomorrow to have a dood look but it was reporting as being about 61 gig with 58 gig free.

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is my hard disk missing about 10 Gigabytes of capacity ?
You may have purchased a Samsung Mobile Computer with Firstware Recover Pro backup and recovery solution. Ten Gigabytes of your total hard disk space is reserved for storing a static backup, this space is hidden from Windows. So when viewing your disk capacity in Windows, you will only see the visible area.0 -

No, not from anything mentioned.
Oct 2005 would have been the date the disk image was created which they use to install everything onto the hard disk.0
