Tracking down old shares

I have been handed a box from my mum with some old share certificates and tax vouchers referring to 1992 Seeboard PLC and National Grid PLC.

I have managed to track the national Grid shares, but don't seem to be getting anywhere with Seeboard PLC, I think they were taken over by EDF energy at some point, but have no idea who the registrar is. There website doesn't make any sense to me, and both Capita Registras and Equinity say the have never heard or hold any Seeboard shares. Can anyone help?!

many thanks

Yes Seeboard were taken over by EDF. http://web.archive.org/web/20060207093502/www.seeboard-energy.com/showPage.do?name=welcome.til This was their website in 2006 that has been archived, it is somewhat slow. You may find something that could be of use. I think it was around 2005-2006 they were taken over by EDF.

    Try contacting EDF Group perhaps?

  • Hi I can't seem to get hold of anyone. The contact form on the EDF site does not seem to work, and the french phone number seems to just cut off. I really don't know who else to contact? Anyone out there who had seeboard shares and can tell me what happened when they were taken over?

    many thanks!

Call the number below to receive the telephone number for:
    edf energy Customer Services

    spacer.gif
    0982 714 0274

Calls cost 61 pence per minute from a BT landline plus network extras.
After the first minute calls are charged on a per second basis.
Once connected you will be given the edf energy number immediately via a recorded message. If you wish to be connected directly to edf energy customer services then we will give you the option to do so. Make sure that you have a way of storing the edf telephone number close to hand. Please note that Servicenumber is a directory enquiry service and is in no way affiliated with the company or organisation mentioned (edf energy). Thank you

It says that it is a directory enquiry service which will charge to give a number (which may or may not be correct) and if the caller asks to be connected will no doubt be charged a premium rate for the entire call. I don't imagine that Customer Services would be able to help anyway but if required they can be found here.

The number for EDF Energy Investor Relations
"Telephone from abroad or from the French overseas departments: +33 1 45 30 85 81" but the OP may already have tried that.
