Cashback site issue......(Greasypalm)

Does anyone know how these c/back sites work in practice - ie what physically has to happen to receive payment? My problem is that a promised £70 cashback for taking out Morethan insurance is not being paid to me due to Insurer 'not validating' the transaction. But what does this mean in practice - contact ing the retailer direct told me that they have no part to play at all in this process and that it is entirely for the c/back site itself to come up with the payment!! In which case my advice is to watch out for how long Greasypalm takes to validate a payment to you - they have told me that they cannot pay me my £70 due to me not telling THEM within 120 days that THEY hadnt paid ME, and that because 180 days had now passed since the original transaction the cashback has now been 'reversed' and can no longer be paid at all.

Can anyone advise me what to do - im not to blame here and find myself £70 worse off!!
