Credit card payment not processed

I had a phone call yesterday from The Co-operative Bank to say that I hadn't made a credit card payment this month. However I did send a cheque for £200 to them on the 11th Oct (alot more thatn the minimum payment necessary) which went out of my bank on the 14th. They advised me to obtain a copy of the cheque and send it to them, and the problem would be sorted. Today I recieved this month's bill from them, and it says that because I've broken my credit card agreement by not making a minimum payment, my credit rating is likely to be affected. Of course this is not the case, as they have my payment. Just abit worried that even when they sort the problem out and refund the excess interest and late payment charge, my credit rating will still be affected. Just seeking some reassurance please :-)

  • You will probably have a late payment marker but if it is their fault they will have to remove it. Best to check your credit report (although it probably won't show up for a few weeks). Are you sure it is them that have banked the cheque though? Have they put against a wrong account or something?
