Redundancy & Holidays

Hi,
Just been informally notified that am having an initial meeting with HR to go through selection process as to whether I get to keep my job. Knowing the stronger candidate I am up against, redundancy is a definite outcome.
My question is as follows--I've been promised this will be a max 2 week process (unofficially) and on that basis, my last day of employment would be 17th Dec. This would leave me with around 16 days holidays that my company would need to pay me out for + 5 weeks notice period + 5 weeks redundancy.
My company is notorious for cutting every cost during the redundancy period so from a legal stand point - can they force me to take the 16 days holidays during the 5 weeks notice I have to serve? I understand that financially they aren't any better off doing that... but for me there's a big difference in having that extra 16 days pay rather than finishing my employment 16 days early (which allows me to look for a job earlier but handicaps me given time of the year and lack of new job at this point)
Thanks for any help in advance.

Saves them 16 days pay, so they are better off having you take the holidays.
If you work the notice there is no extra so just expect the 5 weeks redundancy.
If not enhanced thats max £1900.

Try and find a job now and then ask them to waiver your notice period.
That way you have the upper hand when negotiating salary.0
