Zafira keys not working

Hello

My husband and I have both had problems with our keys working intermittently. I went to the dealer and he had a feel of the key and said the contacts were broken. But then it started working again. Now it seems to have stopped completely so have to keep manually locking the door.

When my husband's key was working ok, i swapped the battery over but mine still didn't work. So I am wondering if it could be something other than the batteries or contacts. Is there any sort of fault with the immobiliser that could cause this? Don't want to start lobbing out for new keys which are about £80 or £90 if not that at all. Going to need 2 and was planning on selling car soon. Drat! Obviously will need at least one functioning key to sell.

try tuning the key to the first notch in the ignition then press and hold the lock button of the fob whilst still in the ignition. this should reset it. hope this helps....it worked 4 me

You just need the contacts rejoining you can have this done by a electronic repair shop or some auto locksmiths like myself do these day in and day out.
