Feedback for non paying buyer - opinions please.

I take your point - Ideally, I would of course love to give a deserved negative, but as a seller, since I can't, a factual honest and therefore, essentially negative statement against a green positive is the best I can do. At least this will serve to be a beacon to warn future sellers of a buyer's earlier failings.I do not see the point of rewarding a non payer with a positive."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

Quite apart from that, if you leave a positive comment for an NPB, if they appeal the strike, eBay will take the positive mark as an indication that you were happy with the transaction and repeal the FVF credit and strike.
Please don't, Porto, it only gets you into more trouble than it's really worth and potentially in the hands of a savvy NPB could be frustrating for the rest of us."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

As mentioned earlier it is also feedback abuse and the seller risks their own account:

Fair enough - and thank you for the advice: you're quite right, it's just not worth it.
I'd like to make some visible record/warning to subsequent sellers finding themselves in the same non-payment boat, but I can't see how I can.
I guess we just have to hope they do it once too often and get shown the door into cyberspace.
