I used to use Clinique, YSL etc. but can only afford the likes of Simple now and recently a lot of people have guessed my age at 8 years younger!
All I use is cream cleanser and moisturiser (and factor 50 sunblock in spring/summer). I've never used foundation (don't need it) but do use a bit of concealer and powder on my nose and chin. I've never smoked either, and only drink alcohol once or twice a month. I hardly drink water either (naughty, I know...).
Your hairstyle, figure and clothes also play a big role in how old you look though, it's not just about the face!
I am trying to cut down on expensive stuff too. I do like Clinique make up though - foundation, lipstick and eyeliner, the rest is No7. I think I will ditch the Clinique cleanser though. Its £15 and cleanser doesn't go a long way like make up does.
Can I just ask do you still use SPF in the winter? Which powder do you use? I have some powder but if I put it all over I worry about it looking too powdery.0 -
Course you can ask, Citygirl

I don't use sunblock in winter (though some people recommend it). The powder I use is No7 in 'Transluscent' but I only use it on the T-zone, which is a bit shiny. I don't bother with it on the rest of my face cos then I look too made up, if you know what I mean. I wear quite a bit of eye makeup but hardly anything on the face.
Hope that helps. I was always mistaken for being older cos I'm quite a calm, sensible person, and suddenly when I hit 30 - bam! - people were asking me if I was 22

HI there, i was absoloutly distraught lately after i renewed my driving licence photo way older than the 33 years i have. Here's what i did and i have to say a major improvement has been noticed
- Drinking at least 3 pints of water a day
- Taking wellwoman capsules daily (helped with pms too)
-cleanse, tone and moisturise, am and pm, followed by an spf day cream (boots botanics) and night cream and serum
-weekly scrub, steam, and vitamin E capsule broken and massaged on skin.
I switched to a lighter foundation, found the old one to bee sitting in the wrinkles lol. I'm with a lot of other posters, stress really shows in my face, we have had a pretty stressfull year and it's all there in my driving licence photo to remind me for the next 10 years!!

Hi, thanks for this, what cleanser do you use by the way? The powder I have is No7, the creme touch one, is this what you have?0 -
tea doesnt help matters I go in peaks and troughs with it when ever my skin isn't great I notice my tea has increased. I have recently increased my water intake again and started cleansing properly....
I used an oil olay facial wash/gentle scub thing in the morning and serum and moisturise... at night I cleanse with clarins and Tone with clarins... then some vitamin E oil and massage and moisturise again. The massage seems to help as well. I use a real scrub twice a week and a mask afterwards too and my skin seems to be responding well to the change.
Also eating lots of fruit n veg and have started having more water. Although started the special K diet today to get rid of two or three pounds before santa time..0
