Becoming old

I am 29 y.o. and had lots of stress recently. I care about my look and skin and I know that I look (oh well, used to look) younger than my age due to good condition of skin.
Recently I noticed that I have wrinkles under my eyes. Fair enough- first wrinkles expected, but they are too deep already! It did not happen overnight, but during a week they appeared. I use Clinique all about eyes already for 2 years and was happy with it, but now I dont know what to do. I look horrible with wrinkles and because I have deep dark circles under eyes I must use concealer daily, which just makes wrinkles more visible.
So how to keep those first wrinkles udner control?

Do you use the oil cleansing method? Because one side benefit of it is massaging the oil in, which gives you a wonderfully luxurious massage that you wouldn't get anywhere else other than in a spa.0

no I actually don't usi OCM,albeit I am familiar with the concept. Can it be used under eyes too?0 -
Yes, I use it all over my face and neck.
If I could go back to 29, I'd tell my younger self to look after my neck more.0 -
Get yourself a nice eye cream, Good Things from Boots is an excellent one and drink lots of water, the single thing that made a huge difference to my skin was taking a high dose Evening Primrose oil each day, although I'm a lot older than you it should at least help, also maybe look at the concealer you use, is it a light reflective one and quite thin but with a decent pigment, Touche Eclat is good, No 7 do a slightly thicker one which you can buy if you have a £5 off voucher and Aldi/Lidl have one which is super cheap and excellent - hth:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Water and a nice light moisturiser. I'm 39, and a lot of people think I'm still at college.0

Arabic woman: lemon and honey to eat or to apply on face?0 -
I have similar issues- I went to a wedding reception and had applied shimmer without thinking...caught myself in the mirror- so many wrinkles showed up! So first of all I'd suggest if you do wear any makeup, keep any shimmer or irredescent products away from your wrinkles unless you have a flawless wrinkle-filling primer on first! Shimmer works well on young buffed flawless skin, or areas that have been treated. Its a myth that it works for everyone IMO. Primers and matte concealers is where its at!
Next I'd say watch your nutrition. Drink enough, eat your 5-a-day or a variety of fruit and veg (no two the same, only one portion to come from juice/smoothies maximum per day- your body needs the unbroken down roughage to access the vitamins inside.) However, nothing will take away the fact that babe, we all get old! I eat (no joke) about 20 portions of fresh fruit and veg per day (eating disorder) I also drink wild amounts of water. I get comments on "how fine/illuminious/clear etc" my skin is, but I still have wrinkles. I still have fine lines. Good nutrition counts for alot but it wont prevent wrinkles for anyone. Nothing will.
And always wear an sunscreen. You wont repair the aging which has occured but you can help slow it down if you hadn't been wearing anything. And remember this rule of thumb: for sunscreen alone you need an entire shotglass of the stuff for your head and neck alone and then to replace it after an hour or so. Who does that? No one! Yet this is how the products are expected to be used. Next think about this: the SPF moisturisers we use are not all sunscreen; they are mixed with moisturisers so you would need even more to get the same effect. Just remember that although you have SPF in your moisturiser its not all that protective- wear a hat, wear sunglasses, stay out of the sun if you can. This will help. Failing that use an SPF and not a moisturiser with SPF. Of couse using one rather then nothing at all is best but just don't wear the stuff and assume you are protected. Its unlikely (unless you applied the entire pot in one go).
And also go try other brands. I would recommend L'Oreal Youth code- its one of the few high street brands of eye creams which gave me a noticable difference on my skin. The moisturiser gave me spots, (the eye cream did but just fewer and my skin seemed to get used to them after about a week-unfortunetly not the case for the moisturiser) but then thats normal for me, you may be OK, try it and see. I also would recommend a different cream for day and night. Just remember to keep your eye cream different from your moisturiser- this includes oils. Just because its an oil or is honey or is natural doesn't mean it wont make your under eye puffy and so be adding to a fine line/wrinkle issue.
It sounds like your skin needs are changing and it would make sense to try out different things and find out what works for you. And try to shop when offers are on- goodie bags can really be worth the effort!
And remember- your only as old as you feel! (and 29 is not old!- I'm 29, I am not old....I don't think....)0 -
Hey Amalis
I've suffered with problematic skin for a while now, but I seem to have it under control now :j
I'm 32, very pale (not as pale as Nicola Roberts, more celtic looking and freckly, blonde hair) so I suffer with black circles. I've tried everything, and nothing will get rid. Drink my body weight in water every day, get lots of sleep and eat properly...nothing. It's just the way I am (or so I was told at SK:N).
I managed to get a free skin colsultation at SK:N once (and they don't do too much of a hard sell afterwards) and I went under the ultraviolet thing...I was concerned about wrinkles and my dark circles. The lady asked me why I was worried, I had decent skin for my age, wrinkles were nothing to worry about and my circles were because I was pale...so I came out feeling tons better!
I have found that Clarins is best for me, as expensive as it is, when I tried less expensive brands they brought me out in spots. I usually stock up when they're doing deals, or if I get Debenhams vouchers for birthdays and crimbos. I had a consultation done so I knew what was best to buy, and it worked!
As for concealers, I find No7 and the Avon equivalent are too watery for me, I swear by Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection, it's a snip at about £3 and it doesn't budge all day. I've never tried Touche Eclat, although my friend swears by it. I spend enough on my moisturiser and face wash so I needed to find a cheaper concealer! :rotfl:
Obv having lots of sleep and eating well will deffo help and if you've been having a tough time lately, it will play havoc with your skin, but I bet if you have a look at some celebs, or even people you know the same age as you, you look fabulous for 29. Trust me!
Hugs and Good Luck :A0
