Hi all as you may well of seen on other treads ive been told i may be able to be paid a wage through a insurance policy that my work offers. It would be about £1600 a month. Will I have to pay tax on this. Would i still be eligble for any other help ie ESA CT CTC please help.

    If you are unable to work due to illness and don't get SSP you can claim ESA. Whether you get it will depend on whether you are claiming contribution based or income based ESA.

    I don't know what the rest of your situation is so cannot comment.

    At moment im on income based ESA and my wife is my carer.

    Your insurance payment will be classed as income, and therefore you will lose your ESA. Other means tested benefits will be reassessed.

    No hardship there ESA is a pain medical monthly return to work interviews

    lets hope we will be able to get some top up benifits cause cant see how we can make ends meet if we dont. May have to stay as we are.
