Clampers

Here's a message to a poster on pepipoo showing that we are all at fault and the clampers are really nice chaps and don't deserve to be abused. (Where's the sarcastic smilie) Copied exactly as posted.

i thought id save you alittle trouble and time,
where the vehicle in question, a Renault scenic if i remembered correctly was parked obstructing in the entrance to the colder sack which is at the end of that road, causing an obstruction for any emergency vehicles trying to get to any situation in that colder sack. this was the reason for a parking management company to be employed to enforce the no parking rules in that area.

the 'low lives' who clamped your friends vehicle were called to remove the car as it had been sitting there for a while, i might add, called by one of your fellow neighbors. i would also like to point out when you took up tenancy at your flat you were warned about all the parking regulations around the flat and there fore when your guest arrived should have warned them of this regulations.

when the officers arrived on site there was no way to establish whos vehicle it was, and being passed midnight would have been silly to go knocking door to door to find out, you were given a while to come back to the vehicle before it was clamped thinking it may be someone dropping something off quickly or something, which of course your friend did not do, but funny enough another one of your friends appeared as the clamp was being put on, rather then stopping the officer your friend watched for a while and then disappeared, but finally came back with the driver of the vehicle, who ran up the the clamper laying on the ground and kicked him in the back, understanding why the driver lashed out in such a way the officer let it side and tried to explain what was going on, rather then the driver listening to a single word, he decided to shout, swear, and threaten the clamping officer, going as far as getting a hammer from the trunk of his car and trying to go after the same officer (by the way there were witnesses to this which including some of the neighbors who heard the ruckus and another officer on site)

the fine started at £150, a steep amount indeed but would have been alot easier to pay then the full £300 if a tow truck was called, and all parties involved where given plenty of time to do this, but as time went on the insults kept coming, the constant swearing and demeaning of the officers carried on until the drivers wife stepped in and started to insult the officer calling him a f***ing racist,

lets tally this up now: officer had to endure the following:

being kicked in the back
being sworn at and insulted by the driver
being threatened with a hammer by the driver
being sworn at by the drivers wife
then being called a racist...

enough was enough for this clamper and a tow truck was called, this could have been avoided but think about how far the clamper let the situation go before calling that tow truck, i doubt anyone in this forum would have been as patient and put up with as much as this clamper did. the tow truck arrived and was handed over the paper work and payment was eventually made hours after the vehicle had been clamped.

will you see your money again? im going to be very honest i very much doubt it, and to anyone reading this post, think about all that was said before making snap judgments, the clamp was done in accordance to all the laws and regulations, all the persons involved in the clamping process were all licensed officers (on their way home, and called out) and had given more then enough time to return to the vehicle before it was clamped, to make payment on the clamp alone, to stand there and abuse the officers, and to have a police translator explain the whole situation,

im sorry but telling the whole story would have been better, as if this does reach the courts, that whole story will come out, and the only reason why there were no charges brought up against the driver was because the police translator later called apologizing for the way the driver acted putting it down to being unaware of any of the parking rules in england and under the influence of alcohol.

another point for you all to ponder on, who side in this situation are you going to take now you know the whole story???,
the driver who blocked a colder sack from any emergency vehicles, who physically and verbally assulted a clamper just doing his job, and most of all was prepared to and probably did drive under the influence...
or the clamper who just wanted to go home, but spent about 2 hours being attacked for clamping an unlawfully parked vehicle???

Is it me or is the poster from an alternative universe?
When causing an obstruction to emergency vehicles how does clamping help?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Got to admit, I would be a bit miffed if I had a colder sack and someone stopped me accessing it

English is not his first language anyway. I notice clampers have a tendency to overplay "assault" etc. Was it on Watchdog Matt Allwright was following a clamping thug and he picked up his mobile to call the police complaining he was being assaulted?

I like the use of words "officers" and "laws". I suspect these sort of events will only escalate up until the ban :(

Well, if the clamper's version of events is correct, at least the car owner got his money's worth. I'm sure lots of people would happily pay £150 to give a clamper a good kicking.

    PMSL at colder sack, though.
