Entitlement for out of work 27 year old

My younger brother has been out of work for nearly two years after being made redundant. He is living with our parents at the moment and has £2,000 in savings. I have asked him if he has enquired if he is entitled to anything, but he said that he wasn't as he is living with our parents. He is struggling to find work and is running out of money as he helps parents out with bills and food. Is he entitled to anything?
Thanks

it is really important that he signs on as this ensure he gets credit on his NI record. Long -term that affects his pension rights (such that they might be) and could impact on his right to get other benefits in the relevent year (usually in 2 years time). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
