Blackhorse and My Credit Report

Options
Hi

Just wondered if anybody can help me out with this issue I currently have with Blackhorse, I have just checked my credit report from Experian and noticed that it said that I currently have around 7 high value credit agreements in place, thus giving me a rubbish credit score. Anyway done abit of looking into this and discovered that Blackhorse finance haven't marked 2 old agreement as settled. both agreements are for £18000 each!!! now all my old agreements have been settled off back in 2007 through my solicitor, so I will have proof of this. Anyway 1 of the agreements is in my name but it was an agreement my late mother took out, now bizarrely it has her address and her date of birth on my credit file however the status is showing as deceassed. i have contacted experian about this and they have told me that this will have a massive effect on my credit score. Got in touch with Blackhorse yesterday and asked for a manager to contact me back, still no reply upto press but can anyone advise me how to get this mess sorted out pronto. I have had various issues with Blackhorse before such as missold PPI to bad customer service but they take months to sort anything out

Please can anyone give me anything i can fire at them to put the fear of god into them.

Cheers

A very  Blackhorse customer

    Forget about calling them.

Submit the query to them in writing and state that they are in breach of the Data Protection Act by passing on inaccurate information to the CRA.

Give them 28 days to resolve the issue.
  • Just spoken to the ISO, who advised me that they have indeed broken the data protection act rules and that I might be able to pursue some form of compensation through the county court, however this may be a long way off yet.

Anyway I've just spoken to a customer service manager within Blackhorse, who by some mere miracle has spoken to the CRA department within blackhorse to pass on my comments, now normally the timescale for complaint handling is 10 working days, however I have somehow been escalated to a priority call in the next 2 days to resvolve this matter. When I then asked if I could claim compensation for the hassle they have passed me a senior customer service name and address. Its funny when you just merely mention a couple of names and also quote the data protection act it spurs them into instant action.

Lets wait and see what happens but again thank you very much for your help:T
  • Does anyone know also where I can get a really good, clear and consise letter template to deal with this matter of breach of the data protection act
  • Right now having had a reply to the issue above and also blackhorse removing the incorrect information i have now been asked to provide proof of financial loss and distress to blackhorse for any sort of compensation. I have to provide proof that i have borrowed money from other sources due (ie: mother in law) to the fact of been turned down for credit by them and other financial institutions. Can anyone please help me with this tricky situation?
