Hi,
After years of moving my possessions on the cheap I thought I'd save myself the hassle and use a removals company...can anyone recommend a service? I have seen a good deal with Irolis Removals but haven't heard of them before...
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Nick

You could try Rocketvan http://www.rocketvan.co.uk/rocket%20Prices.html Ask for Julien or Ois Removal http://www.oisremovals.co.uk/ Ask for Oisin (He's Irish).
Or you can find a local member of the British Association of Removers using this search tool http://www.bar.co.uk/consumer/searchdirectory/
Be cautious of Man and Van companies as some will quote you a low hourly rate and then when they get to the job add extras on eg un / loading van is extra, stairs are extra and they hang the job out as long as possible to push the price up. Not all Man and Van companies are dodgy but you should go in with your eyes open so you and they are aware of everything to avoid unexpected extras
Alternatively you could ask friends and colleagues for recommendations of companies they have used0 -
We used these last month for a long distance move
http://www.harradines.co.uk/
Not cheap, but wow did they take the stress out of moving. They packed all the boring stuff for us (crockery, glasses, cds, books etc) and dismantled / reassembled furniture.
Not one thing got broken which was great as my packing skills are abysmal
ETA: they came round to do an assessment and gave us a proper written quote so there were absolutely no hidden extras at the end0 -

we used these recently, if its good enough for the prime minister it was good enough for me lol
we had a pm slot and they were a bit late, but nothing to detract really, we paid 300 and didnt have to do a thing ourselves although that didnt include any boxes or extras. this is prob a bit more exp than man and van but ii felt it worth it. Not a thing got broken! brilliant, v hard working, highly recommended.
Last time we paid 230 with a2m minimoves who were really bad and i would not recommend.
From Zone1/2 south to zone 3/4 east. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Crispins in Hoxton. Used them twice, once for a short move then again for a 40 mile move.
