Unusually for Hollywood, it's an improvement on the original! And the critics loved the original. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys an intelligent vampire film. The child actors were fantastic and they were faithful to the Swedish more for about 70% off it, and where they diverged it actually improved the narrative. I'd give it 8.5/10 : )

I saw the LMI trailer while waiting for another movie to start and thought 'oh no, hollywood has trashed another good foreign movie' but to be fair the trailer looked really good and the original LTROI I saw had a terrible english over-dub although I loved the movie. ..Think I will see this remake now!

Lol my first viewing of the original had a terrible over dub too. The other night i watched it with subtitles, far better, but the remake is awesome, seriously. I hope you enjoy, let me know what you think when you do : )
