looking to buy a property at the moment so getting quotes for all sorts of things...one of them is house insurance. It asks when the house was built - how can I find this out?

they are probably asking for a rough date to check whether it is over 10 years old and whether it benefits from NHBC.0

If you have had a survey done then this will usually tell you the approx date property was built.
If you didn't have a survey but just the basic lender's valuation then this should also give you the date if you have a copy. Otherwise the estate agent should be able to give you a reasonable indication of when property was built.
With some houses it's easy to date them by appearance, ie: 1930s. Not always so easy with flats though.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
