That does suck about the van, although how much responsibility do you have to take back, or keep fixing, a second hand vehicle once it's been sold privately? I know it's awkward because it's neighbours, but if he had sold it running perfectly fine to a stranger, but then it went wrong afterwards they wouldn't expect a refund, would they, it's buyer beware usually? I'm just thinking about all your lovely hard work clearing that card, it's such a big knock back!
I'm glad he's going after his ex partner for money too - if hubby has invested money in a business that's still going, then it's really up to the other person to buy them out, so I hope he gets a decent sum for that.
Well done on the sales, you are doing amazing!0 -

I see where you're coming from golighly but I would much rather give them the money back as the poor guy hasn't driven it yet as the day he bought it from hubby the alternator belt snapped and caused havoc and our neighbours are really lovely and have been very patient so I would much rather give the money back if hubby can't fix it........he's still working on it but it's not looking good tbh.
I am really gutted about maybe adding to my debt but I've managed to pay off quite a bit and been lucky with tax credits and I wish I could see into the future and put the extra payments from them aside rather than chucking it towards the debt but cest la viveif it comes to me putting it on the card then the van gets scrapped and we should get money from that which will be put towards the card
Still no communication from ex business partner so I think a surprise visit will be getting made with hubby's friends van which is running :rotfl: and I want that tyre machine as I can get £700 for itNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -

That's fair enough, I was thinking it depends how well you get on with the neighbours! How gutting though, but at least if it means you get some money back from the ex partner then that's great.0 -

The neighbours are lovely really nice people so I just can't do it to them ........just really hoping the ex business partner pays up as that would really help xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
Evening :hello:
Been a ok day
Started work at 8.30am took Kk to school then me and my wee mindee walked up to town saving me £4.20 :j
Nipped into homebargains and bought black bags 89p and then I dropped a black bag off to the charity shop
Went to the toddler group £1 was very quiet but mindee enjoyed herself
Came home and had lunch before the nursery run, dropped her off at nursery and dropped in to see my wee gran for a drink and a natter
Picked the after schoolers up and they've been playing away brilliantly I've managed to declutter my sideboard in the dining room as it just became a dumping ground  all clean now :T
So I've had a lsd today :T hoping for a nsd tomorrow
Hope you're all having a lovely day
Off to check pa for any surveys xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
Afternoon :hello:
Mindee eating her lunch so popped on here
Been a busy morning so far working 9am til 6pm today
Managed to get two washings on the line so far today and another in the washing machine.
Took Kk to school and dropped him off came home in time for mindee getting dropped off. Printed off the minutes for the community association meeting and made up notices to go up within the community centre so took them with us so I could use the photocopier after our FREE dance class which has now had its funding cut so the last class is next week  which is a shame as I've been going since Kk was a baby so now I need to find something to do on a Wednesday that doesn't cost the earth
Photocopied the minutes but printer not working properly so couldn't double side them therefore wasting paper. My wee mindee helped me put the notices up within the community centre :T so another job done. Brought home the minutes as I need to staple them all and I'll put them in everyone's dockets after I've collected the afterschoolers today so that'll be me done til the next meeting on Monday
Sent £2.01 towards the Halifax........today is statement day so here's how I've done from the last statement which was 12th August
Balance on 12th august £4178.29
Balance on 1th September £2354.40
Reduction of £1823.89 :T
Would have been ove £2000 if abbies phone wasn't needed to be replaced
Estimated interested to be added was £37.05 but in actual fact only £29.14 was added means I saved £7.91 in interest :T
Minimum payment last statement £92.95
This statement minimum payment is £52.68
So it's certainly coming down
Think my prayers might have been answered regarding adding to my card. Hubby got a 0% money transfer offer through so I think we can put £400 of our money towards the £2000 we want to give back to the neighbour regarding the broken van and I'll get hubby to apply for the money transfer of £1600 and we have 17 months to pay it off so any money we get from scraping the vans will get put towards his card as well as the tyre machine once we have it so it's a plan :T and I'm glad it's not going on my card as it would have been charged at 23.95% Apr so technically I'm saving money :rotfl:
So the Halifax will still be coming down :T woo hoo I'm so pleasedNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
