could be her now...Sorry I meant which area. Do you know which bakery serves the shop you want to work in?
When you say a lady contacted you, do you know her job title? Was she a recruitment officer do you know?

.....so what ROLL were you hoping to fill at Greggs?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

The only real issue here is that the type of job you describe can be filled by just about anybody hence the lack of interest in accommodating applicants.
I worked for a similar company years ago and left after only a week mainly due to a colleague who was covered in flea bites, always had very dirty, greasy hair and who endlessly scratched herself; the manageress was not a whole lot better. And yes both were handling food all day.
As to supplying the above poster with specifics - DON'T.~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0 -
My son had exactly the same problem with greggs ( away on holiday on interview day) . However we didn't give up and rang the recruitmemt manager for the area who kept his name on file and said they would interview him if another post came up. Had to ring her a few times to "remind" her but true to her word she came up trumps. He got an interview and the job! Started last week. Interestingly of the 3 who were offered a job only my son turned up!. Moral of the story is to never give up and "try try again". Good luck0

You've applied for a position working weekends and on the first weekend they need you, you are unavailable.
Have to side with greggs on this one I'm sorry. As others have said, the manager has probably set the day aside for the interviews.Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -
