What Spec HDD do I need?

I would like to purchase a DVD Recorder/VCR Combo unit that has a built in Hard Drive.

There are a few on the market, but I dont really know what I need to be looking out for.

I would like to connect my Sky Digibox & Ntl Cable Receiver to it so I could save programmes - what input/output connecters do I require on the unit.

Apparently not all HDDs allow you to connect & save.

Thanks.

  • i found a cheaper solution was to renew my pc's tv card and install a media centre extender near to the television. that way i can use my pc as a HDD recorder and can listen to downloaded mp3's on the hifi or watch recorded tv on either the pc or the tv. total cost about £200 and for that, since im useing the pc's hard drive as the HDD i have something like a 200gig HDD.

(p.s. im not showing off, it was a !!!!!! to set up, but its cheep and it does 3 things instead of one)
