Hi folks,
Well its been just over a year since I went bankrupt (12th October 2009) and I've survived! Ended up with a 5 year BRU for my sins having given my side of the story and had it rejected. I've just checked the Insolvency Register and it still shows me as bankrupt - just wondering if that should have changed by now as I assumed I'd be discharged or does the BRU impact this? Also what are the next steps? Should I be starting to try and cleanup my credit records or is there no point with the BRU?
Thanks in advance for your help ...

It should disppear 3 months after discharge. There are major IT changes happening for IS, so I suspect that will have a knock on effect on things updating and why you still show as BR - should be resolved in time.0

No, they don`t usually notify you of AD, mine is the day before you and cannot wait now.:pB&SC No. 298

Make sure you keep an eye on the IS site and when it changes to discharged print out a couple of copies of it as it only stays on there for 3 months and you may need proof when you do your Credit File Clean Up.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

We both went through AD hearing nothing from the OR.
I emailed the OR and the RTLU (dealing with my DH) and asked for written notice of discharge. We both got sent letters confirming our discharge from BR a few days later, so have them to use when I tackle credit file clean up. HTH.

I may have misunderstood this, so I am hoping someone can confirm, but if you have a 5 year bankruptcy order, doesn't that mean that you remain bankrupt for 5 years, and won't get discharged until then?

not strictly no....your discharged after 12mnths BUT subject to certain limitations of a BRUWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I got early discharge on 11th October and it still hasn't been changed on the Insolvency Register. When I sent a copy of my discharge cert to a certain credit reference agency they said they couldn't update my file because I was still appearing as bankrupt on the IR site. I appreciate the site was offline during its recent upgrades but I wish they'd get on with updating the details of those who were discharged while the site was down... getting frustrated now.0

Confuzzled you will drop off the IS site 3mnths from date of discharge...thats why I always tell everyone leave it a couple of months before starting the cleanup process...
its sadly nothing to do with site upgrades etc..happens to everyoneWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
