Conversion of Area Confusion

I am planning to lay vinyl sheet on the kitchen and dining area and took the measurement in Metres of 7x 3.

My local shop are doing the measurements in Yards & Feet and have suggested I need 23.6 Feet Squared for the roll of vinyl but something tells me its not enough.
I've never been good at maths but can someone confirm this?

Thanks

    My calculations work it out as 22'9" x 9'9"

    23.6 square feet or 23.6 feet squared?

    23.6 square feet is about postage stamp sized in comparison to your total floor area and is thus inadequate.

    23.6 feet squared is 557 square feet but I think thats more tha double what you need.

    7m = approx 23 feet
    3m = approx 10 feet

    23 x 10 = 230 square feet. I think the guy in the shop has his decimal point in the wrong place and doesn't know the difference between feet squared and square feet.

    Anyone disagree violently?

    Cheers
