Paypal reversed transaction - fraudulent transaction

F&L
I use Royal Mail online business account to post my mail.
I had an unauthorised transaction and I know that proof of posting is sufficient to get the payment back. However, paypal WILL NOT accept the OBA invoice as proof of posting. I also sent them a copy of the message I sent the buyer confirming the item would be posted that day. I cannot get through to them that I cannot supply a certficate of posting as this is not the way the OBA system works. They said they will only accept a certificate of posting and that I don't have to use the Royal Mail!
Paypal told me that by using the online business account I will have no protection against fraudulent card transactions as I can't prove items are being posted. The fact that I posted ten overseas items that day, as confirmed on the invoice, counts for nothing.
Is there anything I can do here? I asked for a supervisor and they refused to do anything. They kept repeating only a certicate of posting can be accepted as the ten overseas items I posted that day could have been posted anywhere.

They are only interested in a tracked postal or courier service which shows where the package went, postcode etc. If you don't have one you have no chance.0

Not paypal they want to see where its going, proof of posting is not good enought for them.
No i'm afraid your wrong for fraudulent use of credit card (which is what the OP is on about) you only need proof of posting it's the only time proof of posting is sufficient.
Have a look at 11.7 on the user agreement

All the invoice does is confirm you have paid for the items not that they have actually been put in the postal system that's why I guess paypal won't accept it. This is what paypal accept as proof of posting.Paypal wrote:11.8 What is “Proof of Postage”?
Online or physical documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:
A status of “shipped” (or equivalent) and the date of postage
The recipient’s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).
Official acceptance from the shipping company (for example, a postmark, a receipt, or online tracking information). Or, if you have Proof of Delivery then you do not need Proof of Postage.0 -
We use OBA. The Royal Mail don't require it, i.e. they say our OBA invoice, stamped by them when we take our mail, is sufficient proof, but Paypal do, so we also have a proof of posting sheet which we also fill out and which they also stamp. That layout was provided by the Royal Mail. I suggest you get onto them and ask for the template to be emailed out to you.0

An extra layer of 'proof of postage' is a good idea and I've always found RM to be helpful.
OP whilst RM don't require anything other than your bulk receipt for postage (and your losses on the account are treated differently to losses for the rest of us who use an item by item system) it is not, as outlined above, sufficient for paypal.
I don't use a formal business account but have an informal arrangement with RM. I print all my overseas postage but use postage stamps for the UK stuff, add all the addresses onto one of those COPs on a pad and when i take my bag of items to the sorting ofice they just stamp whatever COPs I give them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the replies. I have my mail collected by the Royal Mail so I'll check with the driver tonight whether he can stamp a cop to stop this happening again.
I contacted the buyer and he replied that he got a message last week from Paypal that they were performing security verification on his account. Paypal advised initially that it was his bank who were disputing it on behalf of the buyer. He confirmed he had authorised the transaction and that he'd assumed that as paypal had refunded him that I hadn't posted the item.
I've asked him to contact paypal and in the meantime I'm going to fax the ebay message he sent on to paypal to see if this will make them reopen the case, something they told me on the phone they wouldn't do under any circumstances!0
