fake items

Ive just ordered some ugg boots online, i later searched around google and came across thousands of complaints about this wesbite stating that the products were never recieved or that they were fake when they were recieved.
I immediately got in contact with my bank (Halifax) and informed them that i wanted to cancel the purchase, they advised me that they couldnt until i told the company i wanted to cancel the order, needless to say the companys contact details convieniently brought up an error page.
Halifax then advised me that all i can do is get in contact with the fraud team at a later date if the boots do not arrive and that if the boots arrive and are fake that i will not get my money back? is this correct.

Where is the website based? Are there any contact details? If its outside the UK then you'll have a lot more difficulty but VISA/MC are likely to withdraw their processing if they are selling fake goods. Might also be worth contacting the real company as they may have more success shutting them down the the banks.
Is there anything on the website in their small print that says UGG style boots or similar? If they have delivered what was ordered then refund is likely to be difficult to get.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
