It doesn't crack the encryption, it makes use of already known vulnerabilities and expands upon them to build a trusted display unit.0 -
It is no coincidence that about the same time chip & pin launched, sales of EPOS units powered by Linux running GnuCash went through the roof. This is down to the fact that Gnucash is open source so the code relating to card payments could be easily modified to scan-in and store the info from the chip, and attach to it the pin number. Thus allowing the dodgy dealers to make 'purchases' of small values with other peoples cards.Never Knowingly Understood.
