My student loan payments

Options
How do Student Loans catch up with you? I had a loan about 11 years ago, ive paid back a bit, but i changed employment a few times in the last few years and they dont seem to have been in contact or be deducting anything off my wages, do they "maybe" write it off after so long?

Simple answer is no. Have you been earning over the threshold?

11 years, that makes you a post 1998 loans person. So the threashold is £15k a year (before tax..).

Everytime you moved jobs did you make sure you ticked the i owe student loans box on you P45/46? Have you told them of all you address changes? Two of the many things which are your responsibility...

They do wipe them off eventually, if you die, get decleared unfit to work, or at the age of 65 (in your case).
