Hello there

I am after some advice on which retailers (online or instore) do wedding dresses.

I know of BHS and Monsoon but are there any others....?

I am thinking of high street to match my budget... My budget for dress, accessories and shoes is £500, would it be worth my while even looking in bridal shops? Do they have dresses at around £200-300?

Looking at a Feb 2011 wedding so it's all a bit of a rush :)

Many Thanks

Any of the department stores I should think - Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser.

And, I'm really sorry but my stoopid sense of humour won't let me resist - do you mean Feb 2011 or are you marrying a Time Lord?

I apologise *shuffles off in shame* :o

  • I saw some lovely dresses in Phase Eight around the £250 mark. Have a look on their website (there was quite a few when I last looked).

Good luck on finding your perfect dress :)

    Hiya welcome!

I've seen wedding dresses around the £300 mark in bridal shops. Admittedly most of them were in the Sale but its worth going to look if thats what you want.
I know Alice James dresses have a pricetag of around £350-£400 if that would interest you. Click here to find a stockist near you. I know theres quite a few stockists in and around Cheshire and Merseyside. I've tried one on in a shop in Manchester and they're lovely dresses.

Also take a look at Littlewoods online.

I got a proper wedding dress in a sale, and managed to get shoes, undies and tiara for under £500. The only thing that is costing extra is my earrings to match the 50 year old necklace that was my greatgrandmothers :) It can be done fairly easily, I'm sure there are loads of more suggestions ready to wing their way to you. My dress came from a small local store so won't be much help to you I'm afraid.

If you can hold on until the sales I'm sure you can pick up a 'proper' wedding dress for around £300. Or if you go to a shop and find The One there are very clever ladies on the find my dress thread who can find second hand bargains.

If you want to stick to high street, I'd ditto honey_rose's suggestion of Phase Eight, their dresses are quite pricey (up to £350) but they're lovely and I really like the fact that have little trains so they look more purposely bridal rather than just a pretty white maxi dress!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Is this any help?
Apparently they have designer dresses, 95% of their stock is new.
