GE Money or Santander???!!!

Options
Hi everyone, i'm very new to all this so just getting started...:(

I'm not sure who to write to. I have 2 store cards both were originally set up with with GE money but have now been taken over by Santander.

I would assume that its GE Money i need to write to?

Also, would i write the one letter for them both or deal with them as 2 competely seperate accounts?

Thank you.
Lindsey.

I would say that its GE Money but then again you say they have been taken over by Santander so does that mean they are no longer called that?
  • Well GE Money does still exist so i'm not sure!
  • Hi Lindsey :)

My OH also had a GE Money card (Debenhams) and I recently did a PPI reclaim for him. On another forum I was advised to write to -

    Santander Cards UK Ltd
    Capital House 2
    Bruntcliffe Way
    Morley
    Leeds
    LS27 0JG

The reply I received came from -

    Santander Cards
    PO Box 700
    Leeds
    LS99 2BD

which was the address I used for future correspondence. OH received his refund within 2 months btw :D

Good Luck to you with yours - let us know how you get on!

When claiming back the PPI on the store card what has been the reason you put for the complaint and why the complaint in the first place?

Do you have one that you want to complain about?

With my son's. he was told to still send to GE, and they would forward on to Santander complaints office, just make sure you send by recorded delivery and time the 8 weeks, good luck.

Oh and my son was successful in a matter of just a few short weeks.;)

I think either address should be okay though tbh, as it will still end up with Santander either way.

  • Yes I do, a store card with Debenhams and my Barclaycard both have Payment protection I do not remember asking for. I know that any letter has to be right first time otherwise it can be rejected and then you have a fight to win the case. I just want to make sure I do get the complaint letter right from the very start.

When I took the cards out I was employed and had benefits through my employer for sickness and accident. Any advice as to how to write the letter and fill in the questionnaire?

    Hi there

If you complete the questionnaire, you do not have to write a letter, but you can if you want to, or do either.

Complete the questionnaire to the best of your knowledge, and give them as much information of why you believe the policy was mis sold.

Depending on how they sold you the policy, for example if in the branch but they did not discuss the ppi with you, maybe you were not aware what you were signing for because it was not explained to you, otherwise you have been given the opportunity to confirm you were already covered and did not require the policy.

If you do write a letter, this could just be a cover letter to enclose with the questionnaire, maybe you want to give further information where you may not have had the opportunity on the questionnaire.

Also remember to also keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to it at some point.

    Good luck.
