Can anyone recommend any software for backing up music from ipod/iphone please.
I dont particularly mind paying a small amount but would prefer something free if there is anything

not all the music on my ipod is from my own itunes... In fact the majority of it is from other peoples, hence the reason why i need some software to back it up with.
I dont have all my music on my laptop as it was slowing it right down so i removed it0 -
just looking at my ipod files, they are all there in a hidden music file, but the file names are all wrong.
the artist and track info is there, but not as i originally named them.
you could just copy these, mine are a mix on mp3 and mp4 but if you copy them into itunes then copy from the itunes music folder on your hard drive, mine are there, proper files names and all.
my music is from itunes website, usb keys, cds, play.com downloads etc so a real mix but its all there.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

There are many ways to get music back off your ipod onto your pc and then resync with itunes.
im sure i used the ipod as a usb memory stick, copied mp3's direct to it, then got them into itunes when it connected...but it was years ago...Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

OK, did you get the other people's music onto your iPod from other iTunes libraries on other people's machines?0
