Game Loyalty Card Rip Off

If you are the owner of a loyalty card for Game I would like to make you aware they have now changed their policy with no publicity whatsoever that if your card does not go through at the time of transaction they will not credit the points afterwards even if it is the shops fault because their till won't take it..
My son saved for 2 years for an xbox 360 and spent £450 pounds in there last week and we have just been informed they have changed their policy so because the till wouldn't take the card on the day they cant be given to us.I am so flippin annoyed I will never shop in there again as a matter principle surely they have to give written notice to change of terms and conditions??

  • Hi

I'm sure I have seen signs in GAME stores (not all, I might say though) about the non-addition of points since mid-September - but it didnt say anything about when tills do not work.

Any way to take it back and buy another?

This time adding the loyalty points at purchace.

Think if it was me I would tell them where to stick their game if they can't give you the points, after all it was not your fault and you could buy it somwhere else.

I'd write to head office, you'll probably get some vouchers and/or the points added to your account.

After all, with the purchase of a new console comes the years of paying for overpriced games, I'm sure they want to keep you as a customer. And if they don't, don't shop there again!

Sounds to me like they are fobbing you off, not about the new policy but the fact they can't add the points because the tills wont let them! There are obvious ways around this e.g refunding the original order and then put the exact item through the till again with the card - no money needs to change hands. Also the store could contact the rewards team (there must be one) and ask for the points to be added! If they won't do anything complain to head office.

:T Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. On your suggestions after a bit of research I found the phone number for the directline to headquarters and let em have it :rotfl:
Following this they rang the store concerned and I am now going up on Monday to have the amount refunded and put through again then added on to my card.Another victory for the power of MSE thanks to you all :T
