    Surely if you've worked for 40 years and been on IB for a few years (as you said in an earlier post), you'll be finishing IB soon anyway?

    been workin since i was 16 now 57 got to go to 63,the 40 years was approx.and i would love to go back to work,i hate being home alday

    Could be effected by pension age change as I am. Almost 57, but not now retiring until 65+.

    Even so think they have to be older than me. Though I still agree with the poster on the unfairness of retrospective changes.

    Point I suppose is never trust the government. If I had my life again I would do so many things differently.

  • It seems, everyone, regardless of how much NI you have paid, will now receive a standard ESA benefit amount which I'm thinking will be about £60 a week.

    Some people with loose out, others will gain depending on how much IB you have been receiving via the old system.

    I guess it keeps the benefit bashers happy.

    My point was that you don't stay on IB forever when approaching retirement age.
