Hi All,
Just had a quote for a cooke and lewis kitchen from B&Q for £5k, they have a 20% off offer till end of month, do you think I should ask for more off. We are happy with the kitchen, would just like it a bit cheaper.
Has anyone any experience of B&Q haggling ?
Many thanks.

I have heard of people getting things cheaper if they are trade ie tradepoint

I would buy through Trade if I could do it again - find someone who will lend you their trade card or make up a business card and letterhead, join trade and buy as much of it as possible through them.
My builder who was fitting my kitchen was really nice and took parts of our kitchen back and bought them through trade. He only did this a couple of times as it was difficult and time consuming for him, but he saved us £400 just on returning and replacing about a third of the kitchen.
He then fixed my boiler, knocked out part of a chimney and rewired half the house so I gave him that money as a bonus. But still0 -
Hi,
We found our appliances on boots online much cheeper and they price matched them. There was also some poster on the wall about them beating any quote so it might be worth finding simelar kitchens cheeper and asking them to match that or if you are having it fitted by them get quotes for fitting and get them to match those.
They seem to rotate the 50% of deals across the range as well. We got our price and the next day it went into the 50% off sale and they matched that too.

Remember B & Q rae not competitive for the fitting. a £2k kitchen will cost more than that in fitting. You might be better getting independent fitting quotes.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I've heard a lot of bad things about B&Q kitchens -you might want to have a search on here..0

One thing you must remeber is that whilst there are complaints B & Q must fit littrelly 1000s of Kitchens every week. Most of the searches also bring back old posts perhaps they have got their act together?0 -
Not a kitchen but a bathroom.... worst thing i ever EVER did was getting B&Q to come to my home. They said fitting would take 3 days but took 13 months in total. I was 10 days without water and the sparky asked me to wire the shower as he "wasnt sure where the wires went".
The 13 months by the way was made up of 37 visits to the store to complain and countless emails and recorded delivery letters to not only B&Q head office but to the Furniture Ombusman (who are USELESS in case you think they will fight your case).
Isolated case??? Nope, my neighbour got a kitchen fitted recently and is currently going through small claims court.
Horrendous company. Never EVER deal with them. Pay the extra and have a good job done.0 -
Sorry went off on a rant then. Meant to say that i tried to haggle but was told to accept the cost or go somewhere else. Also i was charged £200 EXTRA "to find a plumber as the area is short off plumbers".0
