Surprise Icon on my quick launch toolbar

Hi I just notices a new icon on my toolbar, its a red circle with a white cross and when I click on it it opens a page BT wireless connection manager... its says that it cannot detect a Network card.
Can anyone tell me if this a free upgrade with BT as I am on a BT broadband connection? I have never asked for a wireless connection... this icon just appeared yesterday....
