Fitting ceramic kitchen sink to worktop

Hi,
I am going to be fitting a kitchen for my parents and am unsure as to how (or even if) a ceramic sink can be fixed with clips, or do you just have to use sealant and leave it at that. The sink in question is this one...

...which I got from Focus. Also do I have to cut out a hole nealry the whole size of the sink or can I just cut out a hole big enough for the 2 bowls.
Thanks
Alex

The sink will come with a cutting template and will show you what to cut out.
You can't use fixings clips. Just use silicon as an adhesive and the weight will keep it in place. I've done a few of these and they don't move once they are in.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Thanks for that. It didn't look like clips could be fitted so I guess that's one less thing to worry about.
The template for the sink is the same size as the sink minus about 1cm all the way round. Personally for this sink I think cutting out all the way around is a waste as the worktop under the drainer side of the sink doesn't need cutting out, so I may just cut out what is needed i.e. where the bowls are.
What do you think? The advantage of this is that if we need a new sink in the future it doesn't have to be as big or bigger.0 -
I've always cut a hole as per the instructions. Given that ceramic is an 'organic' product during the manfacturing process, and especially in the firing, there may be a level of unevenness on the underside of the drainer side that will mean the sink sits unevenly and too high. I'm sure the people that manfacture these things have worked it all out and suggest cutting a certain sized hole for a reason.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
