Hi!
This is prob a stoopid question but here goes....
I am currently £500 in credit on my Barclaycard due to a refund from John Lewis for a faulty tv.
My bill this month is £80.....now do i still pay the £80 even though i am in credit?
Thanks!

What do you mean by your bill? Your balance? Or your min payment? Is the £500 reflected in your balance?0

Yes of course you do...without fail....do not leave your card in credit for too long, it is against their T&C. If you call them they should be able to send you a cheque or transfer money into account...or you can spend it on your shopping0

Sorry £80 is the balance....
My card balance is currently +£549....
New tv being bought this week so should be ok.
Thanks0 -
Yes, I believe you still have to pay the minimum as the credit will only show up in next month’s statement.
But contact your card, if you want an authorities answer.

I've just tried to pay my bill online and it wont let me pay.It says there is no current balance outstanding,so they are unable to accept a payment.0

The John Lewis refund counts as a payment to the card, so you don't need to make another one.0

Normally a refund doesn't count as a minimum payment.
Otherwise all you would need to do is make a purchase and then return it for a refund each month to avoid making any payments.
If only it was that simple
There will be a load of other posts where someone has been charged by their card company despite a refund showing, and others where a minimum payment wasn't taken because a refund put their card in credit and they didn't make a payment.
If you want a definitive answer - phone Barclaycard and ask them, noting the name, team number, date and time of the call."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -

Are you certain this is always true? I have paid off a CC bill and reduced the amount I paid by the amount of a refund credit I knew had been made. I ended up paying interest that month because the refund credit wasn't counted towards the full balance pay-off I should have made to avoid interest.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
