we have baby of 5 months.

£4100 a year earnings, and they said we only get 141 a week, i was told it would be more

how do people on hear calculate the figures they give and how do tax credits calculate it to there amount0
-
have you checked the figures on www.entitledto.co.uk? Or there is a tax credits calculator on the HMRC site - personally I would start there and see what the figures come back with.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0

do you work? if so how many hours? if you do work what is your income? if you dont work are you recieving any benefits? how many hours did your partner work before she went on maternity leave? what date did she go on mat leave? has she gone past the 39 weeks of mat leave? Have you had an overpayment? has your award been backdated to the day your baby was born? These are all things id need to know in order to give you a better answer cause they all effect what your payments are0

i do work but due to my incapacity im unable, and also my work wont pay sick as im only relief worker,so no income from job
i have applied for esa income based due to paterners work.( no money from esa due to family income)
tax credit also said this isnt a taxable income and it would award my highest rate.
partner did 24 hours a week
she went on maternity leave on 17th april 2010 and hasnt gone over 39 weeks and plans to return beginning of feb and has also used some holiday entitlement at the end of her mat leave aswell.
no over payment
they have calculated the award back from 15 may 2010 which is babys birth date.
esa wont give any money to me as we have a family income. the forms were put in about 3 weeks ago with all evidence, reason behind esa was more for for housing and council tax benefit as i was informed that this will give us a slighly higher rate of both. informed this by housing benefit office and also dwp.0 -
so are you employed and off sick? what did you earn before you went off sick?0

based on your circumstances it sounds like your payments are correct, put it in the tax credits calculator http://taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/Qualify/DIQHousehold.aspx0
