Boiler Quote - Help please

Options
Hi everyone,

Having a new combi boiler installed and would like some advice on the quote I have received.

Can anyone tell me whether the price is good or bad etc

Thanks :)

The quote is as follows............

• Decommission and remove from site, existing hot water cylinder, redundant pipe work, and controls.

• Supply, fit, and commission 35kw Ideal Logic + combi boiler in same location as existing boiler, with adjustments made to ensure fit in proposed new kitchen wall cupboard. The boiler will be supplied with a 5 year guarantee, provided by the appliance manufacturer.

• Supply and fit wireless programmable room thermostat.

• Supply & fit weather compensation sensor (adds approx 2% efficiency to boilers SEDBUK rating)

• Supply and fit new front bedroom radiator (600 X 1200 T12), relocated to adjacent wall as discussed.

• Supply and fit new kitchen radiator (600 X 800 T12).

• Supply and fit thermostatic radiator valves to all radiators except room in which master thermostat is fitted (this is in accordance with part L1 of building regulations).

• Carry out power flush to BS7593, on central heating pipe work and radiators. Carry out necessary system water analysis i.e. PH levels, total dissolved solids etc, and issue certificate to prove compliance with standards.

• Carry out air pressure test on existing pipe work and fittings to establish their suitability to withstand the new pressurised system. It is not anticipated that there will be any failure of existing pipe work and fittings due to the existing heating system being of the sealed variety, i.e. it has been subjected to similar working pressures during its life. However the same is not true of the domestic hot water pipe work, and therefore we cannot accept liability should any existing pipe work or fittings fail.

• Supply & fit upgraded gas supply pipe from meter to new boiler.

• Supply & fit new 15mm cold water pipe from cellar to kitchen, including new secondary stop tap.

• Remove dining room gas fire and cap off supply.

The entire works should take approximately 3 days to complete.
The total cost of the above works including materials and labour is £2704.52

As per your request I have included a quote (quote 2), identical to the one above but with a Vaillant ecotec plus 831 combi boiler instead of the ideal logic.
The total cost of quote 2, including materials and labour is £3356.77
If you only require the standard 2 year warranty then the quote is reduced to £3180.55

We would be able to carry out the works the week commencing 1st November 2010.

I hope this information is of use, and hope to hear from you in the near future.
