Hi there
Have iva and all going well. Mobile contracts are up for renewal now and am trying to sort out. Have been offered a great deal but it's 20 per month more then our old one....would this be an issue with the iva when we have our annual review? We could look at cutting back somewhere else to cover the difference....any advice please?
Doni need to ask my ip about these things? Not sure how much involvement they have with everyday stuff like this?

Just use the money from somewhere else like your shopping money,0

Do you need this more expensive deal?
Can you reasonably justify it?
Your IP isn't going to let you increase your Mobile Phone bills beyond the set guidelines (but if you're not at the maximum guidelines you may have scope.
You can of course use money from any savings you might be able to make from other areas of your monthly bduget (like your food shopping bills) but remember you're going to be putting pressure on your self with increased outgoings... where would it stop?
Why is your new bill going to be £20 more expensive? DO you really need the latest phone models etc? Up to you but be careful of your budget... your iP wont really care as long as you maintain your monthly contributions!Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

I guess what I am thinking about is when it comes to the first review how detailed will it be? Will they question me why my mobile is more. How much say have they got in things like this?0

I was allowed to keep my contract going but had to go on a lower tariff in line with my actual usage.2013 wins: Persil Bunny0

Are you intending to stay with the same network? Be aware that other networks will be unlikely to take you on with an IVA. A mobile phone contract is a form of credit, unless you switch to PAYG.
Best.

Talking as someone who has been through an IVA it seems that you haven't had your lightbulb moment yet!
Why do you need a contract that costs £20 more than you pay now? Is it because you WANT the latest phone (iPhone perhaps, I can't see a bog standard phone contract costing £20 MORE than you currently pay otherwise?). Your IP won't allow an increased mobile allowance if you are already at the 'limit'. Obviously how you spend your other allowances is entirely down to you so if you choose to use grocery money to fund this then nobody can stop you but there comes a time when you realise you can't have what you want, especially when you were tens of thousands of pounds in debt, on the verge of bankruptcy and have been offered the lifeline of an IVA!
£20 a month is £240 a year, that could pay your car tax.0 -
sorry - I wasn't really clear. The contract is £10 per month per person more and I now get a £15 allowence in my salary for being a frist aider, so really the contract has increased £5.00 for both of us.0
