It has come to our attention that an entry from an automated competition site has been used to try and obtain prizes by unfair means from this account.

There are several things wrong with this; firstly by using these automated entry sites, you do not get to see the competition terms and conditions, which in this case clearly state competitions are open only to website visitors. This automatically invalidates your entry.

Secondly; the hard work, time, effort and money spent on creating and maintaining the site amounts to nothing if the content is never seen, and we don’t like wasting our time.

Thirdly; you ruin the chances of real site users and fans, of winning something they actually want, rather than the greedy attitude of automated entry users.

Fourthly; The amount of internet traffic and email space generated by flooding our competition account with invalid entries (in this case over 1000 per competition) is classed as spam and has been reported to each individual ISP concerned.

If you really want to enter our competition, please do it in a fair and appropriate manner.

These people are ridiculous, of course you wanted the prize or you would not have entered. You would think they would like more people knowing about their site... unless they are the sort of people who want to keep their site a cult for a tiny number:mad:

but when you do there is still the message saying the comp is suspended so no-one can enter. In my opinion the people running this site are just a little bit too precious for their own good and I think I'll just buy the DVD rather than have people like that deign that I am 'worthy' to enter their comps. If you read the website it seems previous comp winners havn't even bothered to claim their prizes so makes you wonder about the whole operation.

I agree with the comments here - utterly ridiculous. Only one question, how do they know which people are 'auto entry' and which people are genuine, especially if you only enter once?

I was unlucky enough to receive one of these horrible emails so I emailed them in absolute disgust this morning and received a reply apologising for the email which was sent out randomly to people who entered yesterday as there was a spate of automated entries within a certain time period (each entry was exactly a second apart) and my entry fell within that.

I explained that I had entered only once and genuinely am a huge Morecambe & Wise fan and they have said if I can give them the time I entered they will re-enter my details - only one problem I don't know what time I entered - does anyone know if there is a way to know what time you clicked thanks/entered?

wouldn't allow me to enter as said direct linking not allowed even though I went to their home page first so had to google their website & enter from there

Thank you! I love Morecambe and Wise (thanks to my dad being a huge fan) so I was really disappointed when they discounted the previous entries.

I accessed the homepage through Google this time and used my non-hotmail email address, just in case.
