Both competitions have been suspended due to mass automated entries. Any entries received from any of these auto-entry websites will be invalid and a report will be filed with their ISP regarding SPAM. Using auto-entry methods means the people entering our competitions have no idea about the website, no idea about the work we do, have never actually visited the site and ruin the chances of genuine fans of winning a prize they actually want.
Further news will be posted once we decide what to do.
Anyone who entered the competition after midnight 25th October will not be entered into any of the competitions.
Anyone found to be using any auto-entry website will be banned from entering any future competitions.

I only enter competitions if I have any interest in winning the prize anyway so the fact that they seems to think people entering from 'mass entry' websites are not 'fans' is ridiculous. Hope other places don't do this.

Same here and I only ever enter the allowed number of times. This is a real shame, as I would so love to win this one as I love Morecambe & Wise.

Please excuse the bump but are we considered to be an 'auto entry website'? Can they tell if we use roboform and is that regarded as 'auto-entry'?

I too think it's a shame because I've bought from or chatted about loads of companies because I've seen them through entering a competition - it's a 21st century form of advertising!

So because we use a Competition forum were unable to enter competitions.

Even if its something we would like to win. Makes no sense. This would have been a great Xmas Present for my Dad aswell.

I've found a lot of great sites that I would never have found if not for MSE which I now use regularly & maybe we should all contact them to express that. What a shame as I'm a great Morecambe & Wise fan, nobody will ever beat them comedy wise as far as I'm concerned & I would have loved this prize. My favourite sketch of all time is the breakfast scene to The Stripper!

I don't use roboform (I could only find versions that cost money and I wouldn't pay for it) but I too have bought lots of things from companies after going there for a comp. Ok, this Morecambe and Wise site isn't (I don't think) a commercial company but I would have loved to have won this prize as I'm a huge fan and it annoys me that they seem to think if we come to the page from somewhere like this we don't deserve it.:mad:

I don't think we would be affected because we only entered once, so if you got in before midnight you're fine.

There are sites that let people bombard sites with entries from one person, those are the problem.
