Access Learning Fund Query

Hi,

1) When sending bank statements for the last three fund in order to apply for the ALF, are internet copies of bank statement accepted.

2) Also i understand they base their decsions of how much i spend on travel, books etc by looking at my statement as evidence. In my circumstance i dont actually use my account for the all the expenses but use cash. Is that a problem as they cant see all my outgoings on my statement.

3) In addition can someone briefly give me a run down of what kind of expenses in their eyes are important. How do they piortise their applicants?

Thanking you in advance

You talk about "they" wanting things - but each institution's ALF is administrated slightly differently, within national guidelines. The people to ask these questions to are the people who look after in in your university/college.

The form you fill in will say who administers it, and that's the place to start. Just tell the truth about your expenditure - after all, even if you've paid cash for a book, you've got a receipt to show how much it was.

The ALF is intended to assist students whose reasonable expenses are greater than the maximum income available to them - please remember that the ALF is strictly limited and once it runs out, that's it for the year, so if you take money you don't really need, you ARE taking it from someone who does.

    Sermon over!

But if you need it then go for it. ;) If it runs out then that's their fault for either being too liberal with releasing funds or the government's fault for not giving enough aid for the size of the university. :)
