Thanks all.
MrsManda; I was going on what it says on the halifax website - it states that you need to print out a change of address form and take it to your local branch with 2 forms of ID, or post it (again, with ID).
We are financially connected; we took out a loan together which was later defaulted on - so on my credit records I do have a link to him. I've applied to be disassociated from him but cannot yet as the loan is still outstanding.
He wouldn't know my postcode, which is why I'm confused as to whether he's actually changed his address or if it's some sort of ID fraud.0 -

No - it doesn't say that. The change of address form + signature is all that is required for most accounts. It's only a Web Saver you have to do in Branch + ID.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
He's totally computer-illiterate, so going on the royal mail website to find my address would be impossible for him. He also doesn't use phone banking or the internet.
Anyway I'll forget about it for now, it still worries me though...0
