My husband reaches 65 on june of next year. He has been on IB and the lower rate of DLA for 14 years . The point is he has become much more in need of help and we have thought of applying for a higher rate. What happens if he reaches pensionable age before a review and how do you apply if you reach 65 .Does the allowance stop Iwould be grateful for some guidance
many thanks Beatrice

If you're claiming DLA and reach pensionable age then if you continue to satisfy the eligibility criteria then you continue to receive it.0

If you receive mobility before 65, you carry on receiving it as long as you meet the criteria; but can't claim for it after you're 65.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

But you cant apply for a supersession of low rate mobility after the age of 65 no matter what changes in mobility.0
