Electric Heating

My dad suggested I get electric heating instead of gas.

My thoughts though are that theres a stigma attached to electric heating- thats its more costly than gas. Is this still true?

Could I put the 'green' spin on it when we sell the house or gas more environmentally friendly?

If you already have gas in the house then gas is usally always cheaper for heating but does carry a higher maintenance cost.

Im with EDF... would it be them that install the gas main?

My next door neighbour recently got gas installed.. so presumably our box would be located a matter of feet from theirs.
