    Why? My cat loves getting in the tumble drier and washing machine. As long as you remember to check before you switch on...

    oh my, i shudder at that too! Doors can get knocked closed and then your cat will suffocate. Especially if you have other pets or children in the house.
    I've read it happen on more than one occasion.

    I keep mine shut always for this reason.

    Yeah,there was a thread on here only a few weeks back where th ops kitten had gone through the wash cycle and died!
