ASDA Spend £40 Get £40 Vouchers

  • fuming, just got my delivery from asda - didn't really need a shop, wanted to get the £40 worth of vouchers. Guess what? ONE of my items (fillet chicken £3.90) wasn't available, so that brought my shopping down to £38.49 and they didin't send the vouchers!

I wouldn't have minded so much, but it seemed so calculating to me, cos asda ALWAYS send substitutions. I cannot believe they had no other fillet chicken in stock! (And yes, before you ask, I did allow substitutions.)

I was so cross I sent the whole lot back!

I am going to demand a re-delivery, WITH vouchers, or cancel the order and never order from asda again!

am I being unreasonable? It's hard for me to tell sometimes whether its my hormones or whether someone really HAS crossed my boundaries!

what do other people think? Has this happened to anyone else?

    Thanks,
fuming less now, after that vent...

  • Despite all the moaning on this thread, I was chuffed with my vouchers and only ended up using one of them - £5 off 4.25kg box of Persil Non Bio, so I paid £5.74 - same size box is £12 in Tesco at the mo, and it's even cheaper than Asda's own brand which I usually buy, so a good saving there! :j

As I shop in Asda anyway it wasn't a hassle to spend the £40 to get them, and the idea of people sending vouchers back with letters of complaint or ranting at shop assistants over them is just laughable. They're money off coupons for crying out loud, if you can make use of them, great - if not, bin them and get some perspective!

I'm a colleague and today because the Boston store had ran out of the Persil non bio we were offering a Box of 80 wash Fairy that was £10 for £5 with the voucher! Bargain!! Don't know if this is the same at every store but worth asking!!!!

£5 off a £100 spend is pretty lame in my book.

Well £5 off has got to be better than nothing off.
