[QUOTEr anyone who is worried about their home address details ( which can be bought from the electoral register, the post office etc etc anyway)
there is an opt out on electoral register for mailing lists & I think post office lists[/QUOTE]
I think this comping lark may prove a little bit too much for you if you have all these issues with revealing details.Good luck with the few you do enter:D0 -
Dot cotton is the winning answer and that will be me he he!!!:j0

....Its not this company you have to worry about but who gets it from them. An email address is all that is required to enter a contest as it has to be correct or you would not know if you had won.so not wanting to be on loads of mailing lists with junk mail (promotions to the sender) for next 20 years....
It's very easy to get webmail addresses such as live.com, gmail, yahoo, etc. I have a couple I only use for competitions, etc. As I don't use them for anything else, when the spam starts to get out of hand, it's easy enough to drop one and start another. With modern email clients like Thunderbird, etc, it's usually possible to set them up to read webmail, so you don't have to remember to monitor the website. I never EVER give my primary email address to competitions.
I wish I could solve the problem of withholding my phone number as easily - many competitions insist on it, and I hate phone spam even more than I hate email spam.0 -

That is not the point I do as above.give mobile number if you get add texts just text STOP if they do not report to their sevice provider. It is giving my home or other Postal address which I do not do.The richard montgomery matter0 -
