Near the centre as no transport
Thanks

  • Went there last month watching the footy, beautiful place! We stayed in a place called the allyouneed hotel, which was cheap and cheerful and decent enough. Salzburg is pretty small and it's central enough to be able to get to most places from there

We had an overnight stay at the Adlerhof in the summer. Its located very close to the railway station and therefore airport bus connection. Quite basic but clean and welcoming. 15-20 minutes easy walk into the centre. Check it out on Tripadviser for other comments

The city is quite small so you don't need a car. There is a very good public transport system if you don't fancy walking the short distances. Public transport out of the city for daytrips is also very good.
The Salzburg tourist site is quite informative, and worth looking at, especially for timetables of opening times and calender of events.

We stayed at the highly originally named Hotel Mozart! Small, family run, a short taxi ride from the airport and within walking distance of the centre.

For stunning views walk up the hill on the opposite of the river to the castle, there's a side street at the bottom end of the main shopping street - it's a fair hike, but well worth it.
